“So often we wear busyness as a badge of honor. Or glorify productivity to the point where we don’t even know what we’re pursuing or why we are chasing down that goal anymore. Busyness can rob you of fruitfulness. The pressure to be productive can rob you of peace. Breathe. Regroup. Thrive.” -Susan Narjala

Do you find that when someone asks how your’e doing, your natural response is, “I’m so busy!”? Do you hear your friends respond in the same way? Busy with what? What’s going on in life? Where is the substance that creates and sustains connection? Do we simply need a reboot to find other conversation starters to ignite a more meaningful conversation?
Today’s episode will take you through a live recording I did on Instagram. I went with the flow and improvised as I usually do but we also get down and dirty to the root of why we feel we need to justify our existence and worth by one word: BUSY. I’ll share tools that I’ve been starting to use (and they are working!) to create stronger connections with my friends and family. I want to get to know the PERSON that I’m talking to, and I want them to get to know ME for who I am. Not because I’m an Uber driver for my kids, I have 5 baseball games to go to and from, 4 birthday parties to take my kids to, house projects, work loads, or how potty training my puppy is brutal. I don’t know about you but I need more. Women out there need more from me too.
I hope you find this episode inspirational and you have the energy to take some risks with conversations and grow your connections. I hope you rip that badge of busy off your chest and allow your heart to shine on its own. Thank you for listening, always for sharing, and for supporting this podcast.
